Getting Your Links To Stick!

One of the hardest things to do as a blogger is to get traffic! There are a million different ways to get traffic but they all take an incredible amount of work to accomplish. There is nothing more frustrating then spending a day building back-links only to find that some or most didn't stick. The links that you planted on blogs, forums and websites were deleted by moderators who took it as spam. Well there are a few things you can do to get your links to land and stay!

First and foremost you really should get your links back to your targets honestly. Nothing beats having someone else who wants to link back to you. Its a guaranteed way to make sure your link will be there for the foreseeable future. You can do this by asking the webmaster or moderator if you can place your link on the site or forum. You could also ask someone else to promote your blog for you. There's also exchanging links with fellow bloggers. To be honest these links are very hard unless you have some notoriety or you have top notch content. If you can land them, feel loved!

Of of the more clever ways you can land a 'link' is to use a hashtag. Take my blog here for instance, if you follow #freemarketingplan on twitter, it will lead you to my twitter, which of course has a link to my blog. When you are commenting in blog posts and forums, just use the hashtag instead of the link. Something like, "I ran into that problem as well, I was able to find the solution on the #Freemarketingplan blog." It wont be a clickable link but then again you wouldn't have anything at all. Somethings better then nothing always.

This next way is a simple email address. I know that an email address is sometimes just as bad as a link in the eyes of moderators but more times then not, you are able to get it to stick a heck of a lot longer then a link. Depending on your niche, they might even care or see it as spam. Here's the trick to this though. Make sure the email address that you use is dedicated to only this one blog or link campaign. Most email addresses have an auto-responder that is built in for vacations. Just set the auto-responder to the max allowed days. Set it to say something like, "Hey, I got a ton of emails about what we were talking about in the forum, The site is, www.yourlink.com. I hope this helps!"
Use something generic and keep it short and simple. Again, better then no link at all.

The last I would suggest is the good old "PM me" approach. This only works obviously where you are able to private message someone. Have the forum settings adjusted so that when someone PM's you it sends you an email. Make sure you have a Generic email draft saved so all you have to do is cut and paste a response and press send. Not my favorite but....

Free methods always take more work then their paid counterparts but you can make it work. You have to be willing to put forth the effort and you can succeed. Happy link-landing!
